IS Money The Root Of All Evil?

hi! its me again. haha. today i went to church, and was listening to the sermon the preacher was preaching today. she was talking about having an alignment of your 3 inner beings, your spirit first, then your soul, and finally your body, and with that, you can being in direct contact with God. she was giving an example from the bible of King David, when he wanted food from Nabal, Abigail's husband, Nabal immediately refused him, partially because he looked at King David in human's perspective. i was listening to that, and she brought up another pointer: Money is the root of all evil. and she questioned that phrase. is money really the root of all evil? or is it just the person's lust for money that makes it evil?

(My friends and I in the year 4 LDP program-Jaguar Team Fouyuck! XD)
i can vaguely recall the time when i was in my year 4 LDP program. yea. that place seriously needs a makeover. haha. the food there, well, lets just say it was meagre. haha. i noted that when the food came for the 1st day everyone's hearts sank to the bottom of their stomachs la. haha. i, as usual, took up my spoon and just ate. haha. it was just rice and a small fish head (should have taken a photo of it) but oh wells, i thought of it as food as compared to those people who are suffering in Africa even as i type. haha. i have this sense that i should appreciate everything that is in Singapore even to the little details like the road works. haha.

that was just the starting part of my little argument. on the last day of the camp, our camp commandant invited some malaysian stall holders to our camp site to sell their little goodies. in case you were wondering where we were camping, it was in Kuala Linggi (i think so, and you cant possibly spot it from the world map) and ya. i remember the teacher buying 33 sticks of fishballs for the whole class. she did it out of thought and for that i kinda respected her, even though i like to play around and fool around in her class. haha. she is a very nice teacher. but the fact that she bought food for the class using her very own money, is that considered evil? to me i think that is a very kind act. so how can you say that money is the root of all evil? if that is so, then if you donate to charities, is that evil too? i am not saying that the phrase is completely wrong, but i find it unjust. yes. it is true that there are a bunch of people who rather betray their friends to get money, but there are also people that spend money to help others. so in my case, i rather the phrase to be changed to something like: the thought of money is the root of all evil. yes. the people who normally think of money are the ones that are evil. i am so not referring to my school principal though. he is a very nice person, who wants to improve the school extension and help the school gain respect by the public. if not for him, do you think we ACSI boys will be so respected by the people today?

haha. i sound like a lecturer giving a speech on a blogsite. heh. oh wells. i so want to catch harry potter, but its on the 12th of july. haiz. how i wish i can catch it fast! XD. till next time!
